Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and other hours as needed; Occasional on-call support required with ability to respond within 30 minutes, either via remote access or on-site.

Job Summary
The Application Specialist performs a variety of technical duties related to core banking and ancillary applications.

Essential Job Functions​

  • Provide support for Phoenix core and ancillary banking applications (e.g., LaserPro, DepositPro, E3, Automate) to ensure the highest quality of service to the department’s business partners
  • Work with application vendor and service providers (e.g., ATM / debit card processor) to resolve technical issues
  • Work with vendor and business partners to design, test and implement enhancements, and identify ideas for efficiency improvements
  • Develop and maintain new functionality related to the core application
  • Create and modify custom reports utilizing SQL and Crystal Reports
  • Customize reports and notices created by the Phoenix core application
  • Create and modify interfaces to Phoenix core application and ancillary applications
  • Work with business partners to test and change system administration parameters
  • Test fixes and new releases; work with vendor to correct defects
  • Coordinate changes to existing and new applications with other IT teams and through change management process
  • Utilize the IT project management methodology to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Plan, design, document, and implement various systems
  • Maintain excellent communication with team, IT management and business partners on tasks and projects
  • Conduct all actions consistent with quality customer service, friendliness and the overall mission of the bank
  • Achieve and maintain a general knowledge of all aspects of the bank and services in order to cross sell products and answer customer questions
  • Ability to reprioritize work due to urgent issues that arise
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Three to five years of experience supporting vendor applications required.
Experience with banking and/or bank software preferred.
Three or more years of technical experience preferred.

Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required

Interpersonal Skills
Must demonstrate effective oral and interpersonal communication skills and perform presentations well in front of small and large groups. Courtesy, customer service, and tact are essential elements of the job. Must be able to handle confidential information appropriately.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and walk. Some light physical effort required including ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some local evening and weekend travel may be expected.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
