Reports to: Senior Director, Sales & Marketing
Classification: Non-Exempt, Full-Time
Schedule: 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, other hours as needed. May exceed 40 hours per week.
Location: Topeka Market
The Mortgage Loan Originator is responsible for originating permanent conventional residential or government insured real estate loans and participates in related business development activities.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Three years of residential real estate loan origination experience required
Previous origination and real estate processing experience required including, but not limited to, FHLMC underwriting and familiarity with Loan Prospector; Experience with Harland Interlink E3 real estate loan system preferred
Familiarity with underwriting of loans for sale on the secondary market preferred
High school diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field preferred
A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and may be of a personal or sensitive nature when working through escalations. Fostering sound relationships with others is necessary. Work involves motivating, influencing, and educating others.

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some local evening and weekend travel may be needed.
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
