Primary Accountabilities:
The Prepress is responsible for working alongside Customer Service Representatives to take the files provided by customers and process them for production in both digital and offset formats.

 

Major Duties:

  • Receives artwork files from customers then organizes and reformats them to be easily accessible on the internal Company servers in the correct format.
  • Checks for issues in the artwork files that will cause production issues and either corrects them onsite or works with the CSR and customer to get updated artwork.
  • Ensures that offset work has a high-resolution sample printed with the Company proofing printers.
  • Collaborates with offset production on upcoming work to test and engineer new product methods (Specialty Foil and Holographics).
  • Produces hard proofs of artwork to provide to clients for approval; holds on to the job ticket until artwork is approved or requires updates.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proficient computer experience with advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally through both verbal and written skills with customers in English.
  • Ability to effectively work with both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to organize, multi-task, plan and set priorities to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and to make reliable and prompt decisions using available information.
  • Demonstrate good work habits, maintain a professional appearance and attitude and follow policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate poise, tact and diplomacy with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to read computer screens and email, mail and talk on the phone.
  • Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Interaction with external and internal customers, including disgruntled customers.
